Dude. stop apologizing and explaining. Driving a truck OTR is pretty much the most dangerous and demanding job on earth. Top 5 most dangerous job behind fisherman and lumberjack for example. Cops and fireman barely make the top 20. I've told recruiters flat out I DON'T NEED YOU, YOU NEED ME, and they are calling me every day begging for me to go to their school, and I have a permit, not even the CDL! My challenges are well over 10 years old, but still, don't believe all this BS and beg and put yourself down. Honestly, you could make more money at Panda express $12 an hour with OT first year or two and go home every night with 2 days off a week. Do it because it fits your personality, money ain't #### if you have to beg, or lower yourself, and your working basically minimum wage first year or two considering you are not getting OT pay, but paid by the mile.

Yeah I know the minimum standard is 5 yrs most is 7 I've been told 10 and I've been told I can never work for them... I think it was a military contract I was shooting for the stars with that application.

Well if your a vet in the industry and have some connections I'm worth the time and effort. I dont have much experience I'm aware of that. The logistics industry faces changes every year and as such I will continually learn from industry. I will never act live I'm a hot shot. I've held a valid clean license since 17 yrs of age, up until 2007 when I purchased a BMW and got 7 speeding tickets. Since 2007 my license has been clean no dui, violations, traffic tickets nothing. I am very confident in my ability to drive and park. I passed both written and driving test first time up and only had 170 hours of training to receive my CDL. I was one of 25 students in a dirt yard with 3 trucks. I waited hours before I could pratice parking 3 times and pass up the truck. I was taught to shift in e days 12 hours total. I like to be on the road minimum 3 weeks and 4 days home time would be to much if I didn't get that time with my son. Ive lost over 60 pounds in weight over the last due to depression of my father passing and my failed attempts to find a good job and maintain my licences. like I said before I only owe 6 hundred bucks to dmv and my license will never get suspended again and I've never struggled in my life I've always worked hard and only received food stamps one time for 6 months. I've struggled so much in the last year I'm starving for work for stability and for me to be dedicated to a company that will work with me so I can one day be an Owner Operator. I know the money's there I need to drive and get it.

Boy China, what's wrong with you?

I had a clown apply for a job with me using false IDs and it wasn't nice to see him arrested, he knew his stuff about trucks and driving. BUT he thought he wouldn't have been hired if he used his real ID and name, when I ran the background check, it came up cleaner than the false ID, So I told him when I went to court I would have hired him. Too bad I can't now.

I was joking, but that probably does happen more than we know. Military recruiters used to do that or suggest that to applicants that wouldn't otherwise qualify. I met one guy in the military that did that. He didn't qualify, but his buddy did so he used his buddy's paperwork and plane ticket to boot camp. Last time I saw him he was doing fine and had re-enlisted. Probably can't do that these days though with biometrics & facial recognition technology.
