Which ones? Supposed to work with the dezl570...which is what I have.
-
Also have a 560 that’s too old but works better than the useless Smartnav -
Even though I don't plan on using my phone with it, I downloaded the app "just in case" there is a problem with my GPS. Android pushed an update last night/this morning...wondering if that fixed some or all of the issues people were having?

I have garmin e log and you do need some kind of smartphone to use it. it can not be paired directly to gamin dezel navigation unit. Once you have app on you phone you can pair your phone with the dezel navi and then you see the duty status and hours that you have left. I have 2 cases open with them. Firs is that the app don't always read the correct miles. I did over 100,000 miles in one day. the other case I have is that I had a e log in personal use after 12 rest time and I drove mine truck on truck stop parking lot and as soon I moved the truck I went into on duty driving. At this point mine 14 hours started and no way to stop. From mine understanding if you in personal time it don't count against you on duty time. The person from garmin told me that they will investigate this case and get back to me.
I also mentioned to them that they should also put bar that counts down you 14 on duty hours down next to the other 3 bars that show how many hours you have to HOS violation, daily drive hours, and weekly 70 hours. -
Still haven't installed the ELD, but I updated the software on my dezl570 and now there's an ELD app on the thing. When I went into the HOS app that has always been there (I've just never used it) to create a driver file with the new company info, it stated that I should use the new ELD app instead, because the HOS app was not a legal log. Opened the ELD app and it looks like it'll walk me through connecting once I do (eventually...maybe...) get around to plugging in the ELD plug. Seems easy enough...
I'm hoping I won't need my phone connected for it to work. Really like the idea of NOT creating a back door connection to the world through the phone's cellular and internet capabilities, though...one of the reasons I went with this one. -
