There was a recent discussion on this topic. I don't recall which exact thread it was but if you search around you shouldn't have much trouble finding it.

I've always just got my insurance and rolled with a logbook. Done it twice from central Oregon to southern cal no problem. I dunno about new Mexico tho.

So you just bought it like without looking at it or checking it out?
Justrucking2 Thanks this. -
Contact both states and ask them directly. It's the only way to be 100 percent covered.

He saw pictures, and it seems to have enough chrome. What else would a guy need to check?Streetroddreams Thanks this.

I may be wrong. I am not speaking from any experience on doing this. However I think all you need after insurance is proof your authorized to have the truck, a CDL, Medical Card and Arizona/New Mexico Registration and fuel permits that can be purchased at the ports of entry. The Arizona permits might not be needed because of the vehicle being in Arizona already.
Edited to add: I think there is some Federal paperwork that might be needed as well. I would imagine if you are buying from a dealer this dealer should be versed on what you should need to be legal as you ferry this Tractor from Arizona to Texas.Last edited: Mar 17, 2018
