Generally an event such as hard brake. I once had significant broken pavement at the exit from a truck stop jostle the cab around enough to trigger it. I didn't realize it at the time until I got a message a day later reminding me to come to full stop at stop signs.

I didn't make a habit of doing that and was barely rolling but I agree that is not a full stop. I remembered the scenario because it had only happened the day prior and because I was usually diligent about it. It was a very busy road and I saw an opening just as I reached the exit and went for it.

Funny thing is many times I would have other drivers behind me in these situations and they would be all pissed off because I would always fully stop when many of them just wanted to keep rolling and expected me to do the same.

Hard braking, sometimes a big pothole or dip in road like on 35 headed to WV. Hooking to a trailer things that jar the truck. If your truck has a following distance thing and you get within 1.5sec of car in front of you that can trigger it. It depends on the company and how sensitvie they have it

Oh yes, following distance. How did I forget. BiG with Millis and I understand why. Never had a problem with it but sometimes takes some effort to maintain when people cut in etc....

It'll actually trigger at 1.8 seconds even though the dash alarm doesn't go off. But, you have to be at that distance for a few seconds.

Half full 20 oz bottle of windshield washer fluid stuffed in the bumper stops the radar

So it sounds like they are tricky. I’d be afraid to even answer my phone or pick up food or anything.
