Most of them need a geography lesson.
RustyChops41, Brucely, Woodys and 1 other person Thank this. -
If the dispatcher has no control of
The loads then there completely worthless.
I.e. They're just a middle man for the load planners.Steel Dragon Thanks this. -
That’s why they are called fleet managers. They keep track of you and make sure the fleet is where it is supposed to be when it is supposed to be.Steel Dragon Thanks this.
-
Fleet Managers handle the administration of the trucks. Home time, routing in to a terminal, handling driver issues. Load planners don't get into these things, they simply keep the drivers loaded and along with the account managers keep the customers happy. Both work under operations in most large carriers.
Steel Dragon Thanks this. -
I think my dispatcher has asked me for an eta once in 6 months.
He knows I drive 650 miles consistently every day.
He does the math.
No hassles whatsoever.Brucely Thanks this. -
Once you prove yourself and show consistency you make those planners and dispatchers job easier so they can deal with others. You just need to communicate important needs to them. Their duty is to keep you moving
your duty is to complete task on time safely.Steel Dragon and Brucely Thank this. -
I'm glad to hear this. We have the same DM as of a few days ago and I like to run my clock out like you do.
-
Some dispatchers will take a lunch money to get you good loads, believe it or not some dispatchers and planners are getting paid from drivers. Scamming is in every industry
