Even so, everything is expensive as hell on regen-equipped trucks. Murphy's Law applies to everyone and everything. Trust me, if it can happen - it will... it' just a matter of time. No poker player ever made it to the top without going all-in at some point. But make the smartest bet possible. There are a lot of folks on TTR that are willing to share their experience and advice. Good luck and keep us posted!!

If you think your going to buy a used truck and won’t have problems in the first 60 days you got your head buried in the sand. If you got to take that thing to a dealer for ANYTHING it’s $4000.00 minimum.

It can be done with $10k if your leasing on to a carrier..... maybe.

If you think your going to get your own numbers and make it on $10k you might as well just burn the whole $45k in the fire pit?

But that’s just one mans opinion.

Yeah. First month on the road, I had a coolant line blow, 350$ rescue. Wheel seal and bearings go, $450, alignment, 200. ARD head, 4200. 60 days later, exhaust leak from a turbo and a new air compressor, 1970, two new tires from the seal, 1200. Plus chains, fluids era, and it's due for an oil change. So far I've stayed afloat, but I've only taken home one paycheck in almost 3 months.

I understand that but that’s jus like saying I can go buy a brand new truck today and something breaks down on it used or new yu will have a problem either way that’s the way I look at it I was looking to buy this truck from maverick cus I’ve known that they keep there trucks up to date but I don’t want a automatic but for that price I could get it put it on with a decent company and pray that I don’t have a breakdown down

Good luck! I’m new at this owning a truck thing too. Like I said just my opinion? Lots of people start trucking companies everyday. You might as well be one of them I guess?

New trucks break down just as frequently as anything else. Just because it has been maintained under a strict maintenance schedule doesnt mean it won't break down. It' a roll of the dice either way. Unless you are leasing on with a company, be prepared to foot your first 60 days (min) up front. Also recommend a cash (or credit if you have to) availability of $10k for immediate repairs.

if you looking too get into the O/O side is a long process. best thing to do is buy a truck with at least 300K miles or less. everbody say get older trucks witch i undestand due too the emission crap!!! but we in another era of life. do your research witch brand is better. what year did they fix all the errors on that type of truck you looking too buy.soon or later does old trucks are going too be noo good. a solid truck witch im looking too buy my second truck is going too be 2015 kw t660 13spd 3.55 rear 22.5lp tire. why i pick that year because i been doing research an kw an cummins fixed all the bugs on the previous models. an for the emission stuff stay uptodate with maintenances should be a solid trucks. alot of O/O dont take care of their equipment they dont invest in their trucks thas why they scared too get emissions trucks.good luck and the market is great
