As an owner operator how do you guys feel about getting forced to have cameras in your truck. I asked that because just got hired with a new company as a owner operator. And we're forced to have cameras in our truck

Goes to show that these so called “owner operator companies” that do this kind of crap don’t really consider you an owner operator! You are just covering their expenses with their equipment in their eyes!!!!! Run... now....TallJoe, mitmaks, Tb0n3 and 1 other person Thank this.

oh that's it...I'M OUTTA THERE.....IluvCATS Thanks this.

I wouldn’t have a problem with it if they paid $12 per mile and never turned the camera on. Unless it’s the best O/O job on the planet, tell them to get bent ASAP.

if i am not mistaken, he already has his own rig. so that being said, if i were to go to a company already to work, with MY personally owned rig, i'd be telling them to flip off.
now, as a lease operator, where he is leasing their equipment, then i'd be thinking it is THEIR, truck, they can do as THEY want.IluvCATS Thanks this. -
Your not a owner operator. You're a company
Driver with truck payments.
That doesn't come from me, that's from them,
Telling you to put a camera in your truck or pound sand.Hurst, DSK333, hagarcobra and 2 others Thank this. -
FedEx requires them for their owner ops too. I would also tell them to pound sand.

The company in with only hire independent contractors. But you can lease a truck through them if you don't have a truck. Since I don't have my own truck in leasing one of there trucks. They didn't tell us until the last 5 minutes of orientation that it have cameras in the truck that record every 8 seconds. But the recordings is not kept unless something happens. I wanted to stick to it cause the average salary is $170000-$270000.
IluvCATS Thanks this.
