I'm starting driving school on Mon. I'm nervous and excited both.
I've been reading all the threads on about how slow trucking is, but I've been unemployed for 6 months now, so something is better than nothing.
I'm single and there's nothing keeping me home so OTR should work just fine for me.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

Well welcome to the club. Nervous and excited huh, good! You should be just fine then. Being single is a definite boon in this industry. Having roots are nice also though don't get me wrong. as many of the old hands out there will tell ya being married and being a truck driver don't always mix.
Just remember truck driving isn't just a job, it's a way of life. It is hard on the soul at times and very lonely also. You do meet some good folk out there but you meet plenty of rotten apples too.
The best advise I can give you is to relax and become one with the truck. Learn your vehicle, it sounds corny but after a while you will be able to tell by the sound if something isn't right.
    Once again welcome aboard:yes2557:

    Thanks rocknroll nik
Yeah I'd perfer to have a family, but it's just not in the cards right now. I don't have a problem spending my time alone. I'm sure it's away of life I can get used to. Looking forward to it.
