Be there in a couple hours, gotta drop my trailer at my step daughters. But plan on being there tomorrow for a while too.

Bought this new in 16 for my wife. She wanted heated leather but I didn't want the LTZ price tag lol. Ordered this one, Z71 with LT2 package, we both happy. I still drive a 08 GMC, till my 55 is finished.

 

I'm easy to spot lol.... ask @wore out or @Logan76 ... Kinfolk say I look like I swallowed a mule and got it all down but it's tail .

Speaking of the current generation, I was looking at videos on YouTube and they have all of this stuff on alpha males and beta males and omegas and stuff. And I am wondering, "exactly WHEN did they come up with this stuff?" I'm not saying the info is wrong...I just dont recall this stuff when I was growing up. We were Men. Plain, simple Men. Not "males." Just because you're a "male" doesn't mean that you are a Man.

One of my favorite movies of all time. Pure Man Flick. Anyway, here's the challenge: Show me the 'beta male' in this movie clip.

I know, I know...another rant by Six. Actually, I'm not ranting. I just dont understand how people can allow other people to determine, or even pre-determine what sort of person you are or could be. Do a google on 'alpha male' and a bunch of pictures of pretty boys comes up. Does that even make sense? So, because I am not pretty, I am not at the top of the food chain? When did "pretty" become the top of the food chain?

"Oh, but Six...alpha males have their pick of the women. Women dig them. So women have to find them attractive."

Just like these stupid girls that work and support some loser guy that hadn't had a job in his entire life, and he bounces from girl to girl when he finds one with a better offer. Riiiiiiight, sign me up. And what the hell is an 'alpha female?'

"Oh, that's a strong confident woman that leads the pack. She has her pick of any guy she wants and she gets her way."

Ah. Like that "Bachelorette" thing they show on TV, where this woman has her choice of 20 plus pretty boys vying for her attention. Yeah, I want to stand in line and wait for my chance to make out with a girl who just made out with 20 pretty boys. How is this appealing? In the trucking world, it would be like waiting on a lot lizard to make her rounds, and then kiss her in the mouth and snack on her. Sound appealing? Only if you crave sausage. Proof that "reality tv" is not real.

"But Six, say you were contestant number one and you could win a hundred grand if she chose you."

Make it a million and it still wouldnt interest me. Think about it...if it were you and there were 20 girls waiting for you and a cash prize, how would you play it out? I like a strong woman, one who doesn't do what others do. Dolled up, wearing evening dresses...yeah, nice to look at, even nicer to bang. But show me the girl wearing boots and denim, driving a 1 ton pulling a horse trailer and she's got my full attention. Or riding a steel horse cross country packing heat. Or in uniform carrying an automatic weapon.

At my uncle's house, he was sitting with a group of Men. Was there an 'alpha?' No...they were sitting there, talking and drinking beer and laughing. My uncle invited me to sit with them, and one of the Men handed me a beer. I sat there quiet because I was a kid...17 yrs old or something. These guys were much older than me, and they were talking about things that I knew nothing about. It was fascinating! "So this is what the Men talk about." The only time I spoke was when, after a while, my uncle asked me questions. And the other Men became silent. And someone handed me another beer.

It's amazing how that respect thing works. Give respect, GAIN respect. Cant get any more manly than that. Anyways, Six back quiet.

 

55 what????

 

I have a 55 Chevy 2nd series short / stepside. Came from S Carolina, still had the factory AM radio in it. Big back window truck, very close to being ready for paint. I have all new chrome grill, head light rings, door handles for it. And all new rubber for doors and glass. Engine is on stand waiting for install, still need to put a bearing and seal kit in the 4 spd Muncie but that's little stuff lol.
