280 from center of steer to center of tandems, some states/provinces say im 311 cause they measure to the center of the rear drive, or so our od department claims tho considering the goat paths they like to send me down I'm not sure i believe them.

I know im not very long. Especially not compared to some long hood with a big house. But combine that 280 with where i had to put my fifth wheel slide frame to pull doubles... It can be make some places tight. I could shrink it up some but then id be stretching it back out every time i need to over hang the front. I'm exactly 72 feet bumper to bumper with where it is now. I had to get an annual for Florida for when i do 53 ft power only loads. Pretty sure id also need one for some of the northeast, but i only run up three for stupid good money, and while ups pays us decent, it ain't stupid good.

Also I'm pretty sure I'm ok in Florida without the permit cause i think that 75 ft rule only applies if you can't get your kingpin to center of tandems shrunk down to 41 ft. But the permit is cheap and its not worth the hassle of trying to tell someone in our permit department they are wrong. @blairandgretchen just ran down here with his stretch opened up and they measured him and told him he was good, and he is absolutely over 75 ft. 57' trailers are used down here.

That bulkhead cones of with 4 bolts. Maybe 6. That ravens would be a good buy at 9500, maybe 10k. Ravens used to be excellent trailers right on par with east and mac. That utility is gonna need a lot of time and money. Even if uou got it for 5k you would have more in it by the time you got it ready to work than you would on the ravens. 3k for good tires, 800 for drums shoes and scam bushings(not counting labor) and another 500 if you can weld putting in a new king pin plate. If you can't weld, probably 1250, maybe 1500. So already over 10k if you got it for 5k. The ravens looks to be ready to work the day you pick it up, obviously would need to go over it before buying tho.

Sounds like fifth wheel plate and tires alone will be adding another 5k to the 5k sale price (if he goes for that price that is). The rest wouldn't be too much monetarily but there will be tons of sanding and painting to do.

I haven't even called him bak yet. I've been pretty busy the last few days. He has called me though and left a voicemail asking me what my thoughts were on in regards to the trailer after viewing the pictures. He knows that thing isn't worth 7500 and I'm definitely not paying more than 5k for it.

I feel pretty confident I can have this thing looking decent and road ready for 10k or less. I can do nearly all the work myself minus the fifth wheel plate. However, my time is worth something and frankly I just don't have that much to spare. I think I'm going to call him back and tell him I'm not interested in it and keep saving for something in the 10k range later.

That Ravens trailer looks like a good deal but it's not for me. I don't want Super Singles on anything. Also, about the bulkhead on the Utility. I saw that as a bonus. I'm contemplating running a side kit later down the road so it could come in handy.

Impress toy are only running coils or other over head crane loaded steel, a side kit is more aggravating than its worth. For any side loaded product you will spend more time breaking it down and setting it back up than you would just using normal tarps, and you are doing it for every load, not just the tarp loads.

if that trailer left the factory with duels, a guy could probably pretty easily find someone to trade rims and tires with for duels. or negotiate swapping rims and tires with another trailer on the lot. however if it was factory super singles axle width might be too wide. i wouldn't automatically not consider a trailer due to super singles. but take your time shopping better to find the right trailer for you than to try to make the wrong trailer work.

I wish i had a longer trailer honestly. This short one rides like its got all steel wheels and no suspension. But then i am only at 38 ft of trailer. My truck and trailer bumper to bumper is less than a 53 ft reefer. Still load this pig to 86k. Lol

Don’t understand the dislike of wide base singles.
Have run them for years. Never had a problem.
They run cooler, are quiet, do help fuel milage, lower weight and now are equal or less in cost to running duals.
