You know you've been driving to long when.....

When you can remember filling up with fuel for .67 cents a gallon .... and wandering what you would ever do if it went over a dollar ...

 

you and your spouse come in off the road, decide to go out to eat on a date, and go to a truck stop instead of a "regular" restaurant. All without thinking. And in the car on the way over you keep taking your turns wide, to leave room for your trailer (you know, the one on the back of your car).

 

....you borrow your mothers 1989 Plymouth Colt Vista wagon with a manual transmission and keep trying to float the gears or nearly running into a car in the parking space in front of you because you attempted to back up with the shifter in 1st gear position because you're used to that being where reverse is.

 

You finally get some hometime, and go out in the family car. Everything is wrong! The ceiling is way too low; you can't stand up; no air-ride adjustment for the seat; it's way too close to the floor; the shifter is wrong (not enough gears); side mirrors too small to see anything; way too close to the ground; .....

 

When you pull the cigarette ligther out to set the brakes!

you Try to Clutch your Automatic to get it into reverse then Freak out because the clutch isnt there

 

I keep wondering why the darn Jake isn't working

 

You have to remind yourself that the pay at the pump card reader doesn't need your SSN, DL#, truck and trailer #.
