Wondering if I can put off fixing these welds until the weather gets nicer, or if they’re bad enough for a violation? It’s the only cracks on the trailer, passenger side.
How serious are these cracked welds?

Keep an eye on it. If your worried about getting shutdown paint a thick coat of paint on it.
-
I’m going to gouge it out and weld it when the weather gets decent.
-
Me, I would have fixed ASAP, looks like separation on that top photo. Not worried about DOT, I would be concerned about something letting lose and killing me or someone else.
De Trucker, Oxbow, Streetroddreams and 4 others Thank this. -
That’s a quick fix for a welder. Get it done. Dig in the reserve account. It’s there for a reason.
REO6205, Grubby, wore out and 1 other person Thank this. -
Literally a few bucks, not a big deal, and not enough to wait until the weather is better.

Here we go, doom and gloom I’m going to kill someone...
All I was wondering is if it’s bad enough to be an immediate concern, and it sounds like it is. I’ll have to drag the tools out this week and patch it up. -
I would fix, but that is just me.Diesel Dave and Grubby Thank this.
-
I’ll fix it, or have it fixed if I cannot. I will admit I’m totally new to aluminum flatbeds, so it’s just my inexperience to not know. For a 28 year old trailer I’m surprised that’s all that’s cracked.
bzinger Thanks this.
