Hello and good luck. Be safe and you'll get home. I see lots of stupid stuff out there and it seems when I see it and slow down a whole bunch of new stupid comes around.

 

Every time this topic comes up, I usually suggest everyone consider a good life insurance policy if they don't already have one. Keep the beneficiary up to date on it's existence. If you're younger than about 40, term life insurance insurance is pretty cheap but shop around. Some will rate truck driver as stated occupation higher than others. But the larger point is, don't wait too long. 20 year term policies go up exponentially as you age. Everyone should buy a [new] 20 year term policy somewhere between about 40 and 45 years of age to get the most bang for your buck that will last into some of your more senior years.

Insurance through your employer is okay but your better off to shop around yourself and work with highly rated insurers. Whole life is a good option for some too, but do your home work and work with an agent or broker you trust.

 

Yes it's sad but it's true. I cant believe how many people we pass just like the ones you mentioned. My husband doesn't believe when I tell him because it happens so much.. you see the driver swaying back and forth to the shoulder, slowing down speeding up. So you go in for the pass to find out drivers eating a cheeseburger while texting, all at the same time as driving a murder machine as you put it. (I like the analogy) Hopefully us new comers can come to realize just what is at stake here and shape up or ship out. It's not just your life at stake it's the family of 4 in the van 1/4 mile back too.

 

It's people like this that get honest people forced into ELDs. It is MY business too when youre in front of me texting, crash, and create a 10 car/truck pile up. YOU made it all 10 vehicles business the moment you became distracted!!!! Get some knowledge before you call someone a snitch. They just trying to prevent the next taken away privacy mandate
