Been to Trenton lately? Since you mentioned potholes. LOL
    The dust bowl is Cartersville.

Lol clearly you missed the Ohio pothole meme I posted. I swear they took that picture at the Trenton drop lot. I agree with you sir, Cartersville is a dustbowl. However, the facility itself is nice, the amenities are great, and my favorite mechanics are there. On top of that, there are fantastic Philly cheese steak sandwiches and cold barley pops a couple minutes away by foot. It is possible that it outranks Burleson for dusty lot status. But when you factor in the complete lack of amenities and totality of desolation of Burleson, it wins the depressing terminal category :biggrin_2559:

P.S. As an added strike, it's in Texas. That's a lot to overcome :D

    P.P.S. There's no fuel there

Millis drivers, where are all the yards etc to leave your truck say when your off.
Plan on moving from Ohio. Was thinking UP Michigan but Richmond is 4 1/2 hour drive from home( if I bought it).
So wondering what other states and locations are there.
So I can look at my options of where to buy.
Anyone that has done this any help or info will sure be appreciated.
No better place to ask then drivers.
    Thank you guys.

You are thinking of moving to UP Michigan? If so better check with Millis because idk if thats really in our hiring area so could be hell to get you home. As for the terminals they are in Richfield WI, Black River Falls WI, Trenton OH, Cartersville GA, Weedsport NY, Burleson TX, and Albany GA. You are allowed to take your truck home you dont have to leave it at a terminal. Just as long as you have secure parking.

As Keen said you might want to double check with Millis. I will say my trainer originally lived in Cartersville then moved to NW AL which is 3 & 1/2 hrs away. Cartersville is his terminal and he makes the drive there home & back usually, although sometimes he will drive his truck home (he has lots of land and a safe place to park) and get a load in Cherokee to start back out. So I guess it all depends on a few factors, including safe parking and whether a load could be picked up/delivered close enough to your home to justify it.

You forgot the Eden terminal. But having been there I can totally understand why.

I spoke to Naomi she said Richfield would be my terminal or she mentioned Detroit which I want NOTHING to do with.
    That’s leaving the truck.
She said I couldn’t take the truck because of fuel cost. Which is understandable, no problem there.
    I would be a 4 1/2 hour drive home.
She also told me I would be regional.
Serving Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana .
    Getting every weekend off.
As she told me I would get off Friday drive home then Early Monday drive back to Richfield.
Just not sure though which is why I wanted to ask you guys.
You are doing the job now I value your opinions.
I can sell my house now( I own it)
And buy that one out right.
So after driving for a living I guess a 4 hour drive home would be nothing right?
A big decision to make, there is more to it lots of family BS and my wife and I need to move. To get peace of mind. All I will say here.
To be honest her sister has a home near where we would be.
Would it be worth it is the million dollar question?
Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate your input.

That is an interesting situation and set of circumstances you have there. To be honest whether it is worth it or not is something that only you can ultimately answer. For my trainer driving 3 1/2 hours was well worth it for him to do because he lives out in the country now and has tons of land which he loves. Of course he is on the road for three weeks and then home for Hometime, so he is only making that drive once a month. 4 1/2 hours will not be a lot of driving once you’re used to driving every day, however that does mean nine hours of your off time each week will be spent just driving to and from the terminal. That seems like a good bit to have to drive every week, but again whether it is worth it or not is ultimately up to you. If it helps to think of it this way, it’s about the equivalent to have an a1 Hour drive to work each way five days a week because it would be two hours round-trip each day, if you think of it that way it doesn’t seem as bad LOL. :)
