Which one do you have? Been looking at the Garmins and the Magellans.

So I have heard. Yep, I have every intention of doing just that.

    Again, thanks RT

    Excellent post and advise!

I can bet they got twitchy about a rig doing a U-turn in front of the White House!

Yes RT, you read correctly. We already pull their loads. Now we get more of them. Also, for future reference: When in Mass., cross your fingers and toes for a chocolate load that goes to Sacramento, Ca by way of the "Southern" route; I95, I10, I5. 3700 miles and you get 7.5 days to do it in.
Plus there's another one (not chocolate) that goes from Adams, Mass (NW corner near NY State) to San Jose, Ca but only 5.5 days to do it in.

On the Polygragh statement: I've been here over 6 yrs and the company has never done a Polygragh Test on anyone that I'm aware of. Not saying that they have in the past, just never heard of one given.

Lacking any forum that this fits neatly into....I have a complaint.

    The lack of secure mailboxes.
Flying J just told me that they are taking all of their "blue boxes" out (the secure mailboxes, but that I was free to use their unsecure roadside mailbox.) I can never find one at TA or Pilot either.

For those who have a need to send money orders, checks or even ComCheks through the mail....this just doesn't work...at least not for me. And not having access to a secure mailbox for such mail really limits access to the mail system overall as the ONLY mail I send is to pay my bills.

So...next post office I see....I'm pulling this big bad boy in. They want to complain, I'll complain right back.

    RT

Most if not all Petro's still have them. They're located at the Driver's entrance outside or just inside the vestibule. USPS is removing them cause not enough "snail" mail is being dropped in, I guess.

    ScooterDawg Thanks this.

Great advice and something I definately plan on doing. I am really hoping for KLLM as they seem my style, but there are others I'll be applying to as well (Stevens, Schneider if they start taking new drivers, maybe Central Ref). It really seems like a toss up as far as these companies are concerned. Mostly negative posts. I'd like to stick with refer right now though. During this economy, people still gotta eat!

Awesome, thanks Steveh. I might just have to take you up on that offer. I quit my job on January 7th and that will be a wonderful day.:biggrin_255: I wish I could pull an "Office Space" to see if I can get myself fired, but I'm going to take the boring way out and leave on good terms.

Good luck with your new career!

thanks for the welcome RT. Horse industry has slowed so I figured I try something I've always dreamed of doing. Do you know if I can bring my truck home or do I have to leave it at the Dallas yard?

You are correct in your staement. I have a lomg time freind in the pest control biz, and his specialty is "BED BUGS". He flies all over the US to help major 5 star hotels get rid of these pests. He says Las Vegas,NV is the worst. The bugs usually come by way of rich foreignors.
