change the coolant. put nitrite free ELC. red or yellow..
-
Well if its not broke dont fix it right. Just want to add some coolant that's all.
martican Thanks this. -
remember the green is a conventional coolant and you need to maintain proper csa level. otherwise you will pay big repair bills later for overhaul. Any green coolant for heavy duty trucks will work.
Hulld Thanks this. -
Thank you. If I do change it out how would I get all of the green coolant out or it doesn't it matter.
-
Flush it out with a hose and tap water.
You are light years ahead of the game by using the red or yellow.
Just did an inframe on my 60 series last year at 900,000 miles.
Cooling system and counterbores looked like brand new.
Engine has never had anything but red coolant in it. -
So drain the rad,and disconnect the upper and lower rad hoses and flush the engine out with a hose right. Who makes the red coolant. Thanks

If you have a FleetPride in your area they have the 50/50 ELC Red for around $9 a gallon. Best price I could find, been using it for some time without issue.
