I installed one on a 12.7 and the customer noticed a difference. I used a 100 ohm resistor, also set injector calibration codes to 75.
cat from the valley and Baack Thank this. -
will the code work as the cat code does
-
I don't know how much the temp wire does, as I have never tried it. I have set the injector codes to .75 on three of my Detroits. Two were 11.1 engines, and the third a 12.7. There was a very noticeable difference in each, especially the 11.1.
cat from the valley Thanks this. -
I'm sure this will thrill you, Now being fully retired I bought a 1999 FLD 120 to pull a 36' 3 axle fifth wheel Rv trailer. Over the years I've seen too many pickup's pulling overloaded trailers and they can't pull the hills, thus blocking roads and making trucker mad as hell. Well, I didn't want to become part of that problem " so I bought this truck.
I signed on to this forum to learn from you guys the do's and don't"s about the Detroit Series 60. Like the code reader required and the tricks to get the best performance out of my engine.
Thanks for reading this, I guess we all had to start some place.

Hi guys. What will i get if i put 100kohm on fuel temp wire? More power or better mpg?
And second question... Do i need to disconnect wire from sensor and put there that 100kohm insteas of sensor? -
Not 100K ohm, just 100 ohm,and yes it takes place of the sensor. However, you want to make sure your check engine light doesn't come on,because that will cut power back. Also, change your injector codes to 75,if you have a reader or laptop to do it.
-
You should try changing those injector codes with the truck on the dyno and see what it doesn't do.Just my observation.I've tried this with no gain.
-
I should have added that using the code that is stamped on the injector works the best, make sure the codes corespond correctly in the program with the possition (cylinder#) the injector is installed in the engine.
-
On some 12.7 engines with the 1550 ft lb torque setting, I have not noticed as much power change with the codes, but on the 11.1 engine the code change will make a huge difference, especially with the 400 HP ECM setting.
The best setup for the 11.1 I have found that involves no parts changing, is the 400 HP setting, fuel restrictor at 90 thousants, and .75 inj codes.
