What is that cost I saw on the settlement just below the truck payment for 99.??
Saw some. Other stuff also that was. Strange
The physical damage looked high a 100 but. Other stuff looked. Good can u buy your phy damage from outside I think. U can save about 30.??a week give or take 5 on that
Does the apu have. Shore power
This question is for thumper -
Hi
The 99 bucks is a per mile cost for the truck .
You can order the color and t660 or t600 you may have to wait up to a month to get it in the mean time they will short lease you a truck on the yard.
I got lucky and got mine the 3rd day of class.
Fuel discounts they have a opt in thing for 3 bucks a week I am using where they tell you the cheapest places to fuel but ill prob drop it.
I like loves for the free showers and refills all month long and I tally'ed my fuel up for the week was like 1789 once it was said and done i was charged like 1540 so there discount at loves saved me about 200 bucks
yea alot of stuff I am still going thru on the deductions.
THe ins I am not sure if you can get on your own or not will ask and let you know.
The apu to be honest is the first one I have used so I have no clue wtf you mean lol
I turn the truck off And put the switch to acc for my radio power etc.
and in bunk I set it to heat or ac and it does something under thebunk to heat
and the generator kicks on when you have the ac turned on. -
By shore power, I think he means, can you plug it in somewhere and the answer to that is no. All the APU is is a big 12v generator with the inverter in the cab doing all the work to run your electrical toys. Fridge, a/c, and heat all run off of 12v.
Big Orange- yes I am still with T/A. No I am not an l/o. Way to new to this business to want to go that route. Would like to have a clue as to what I am doing before becoming a small business owner which is what an L/O is. Plus I realize that I am probably not smart enough or disciplined enough to be one. Would like to give you a weekly avg on miles but it is varying widely at the moment. Some weeks very good then you get a meat load that you have to sit for 2 days waiting or in my case, the truck I have keeps having problems. Its an 05 and the lease is running out and I am currently sitting is Olathe waiting to get a different one. Have been waiting 5 days now and other people that I know have waited upto 2 weeks but hey- -wanna be an L/O? Can have you in a truck today.
Ooops, sorry bout that. Got off the subject there.
Hey Thumper, starting to make any more sense out of these settlements? Having problems understanding all that myself.
Ins- I have heard 2 different things on that. While in orientation at Rockwall, the guy doing the instructing, told the one L/O there to check with OOIDA, that as a member with them, he could get discounted ins. Talked to another L/O with T/A and he said he was getting it thru them. Best I can do on that.
Kentucky- as an L/O, you are stuck with the insurance that the company uses since you are basically subleasing the truck from them. Would be a different story if you were an O/O leasing with them. -
Thumper, thanks for the running commentary. Good info. Keep it up. 84cpm seems low for a lease operator. But the info is good.
Panhandle, GOOD idea to wait until you have some experience before trying a lease. Yeah, it's a business, and too many do not realize that - especially newbies who only see the dollar signs. The fact you are confused by the settlement Thumper posted is an excellent example of why you should get experience first.
I look forward to following Thumper's progress and Panhandle's career. -
yea parts of it are the fuel they dont match my totals so I had to call because the pump price and the price we pay is different I saved about 200 in fuel.
Also few other things I am still going over with lease
Ill have to call about ooida been member there while and didnt think to see if that would work with lease good point.
Also your right far as company they get a little worse deal then us I met a company guy in cali on monday he was there friday i unloaded monday and was gone monday but you never no he maybe a .............. well you know what i mean a truckshop junkie so who knows.
About your truck that sucks sorry to hear it.
How long you been at Ta now?
-
by shore power
What I mention was what you said or that's what I kent anyway
(I am a truck driver) LOL...
Difference is
Shore power = plugs built in truck can run stuff like tv etc with apu turned on
Inverter = plug in stuff like a fridge that can run with out generator/ apu on so constant power
Most are shorepower as inverter blow up allot when guys plug in form style fridge and the wear out fast because constantly running
Shorepower basically is 110 current when you are stopped
Thumper........
Is the 99 dollar per mile charge on your settlement
Is that used towards the truck residual buyout ballon a freind of mine was told that
Is that what u here as well so it's basically still your money ... Right?
What if u decide to trade out can u keep that and transfer to next one?
Is it capped out at a certain dollar amount?
What is your current fuel surcharge this week?
Can u fuel at pilot ?
Thanks guys
