Stopped at the 83 Diner/Travel center in York, PA today. Located on I-83 exit 28. It has two separate buildings one is a diner and the other is the "Travel Center" that has a 24 hour Pizza/Sub shop, $12 showers, laundry. Had breakfast at the Diner which was good and dinner tonight I had pizza which also was good.
They do charge $25 for parking but anything you buy is subtracted off the price. So basically with a shower and dinner your parking is free. They do not sell fuel, so its not your standard "travel center" but non the less it is nice, clean, and peaceful. Seems to me that the paid parking places seem to eliminate or deter a lot of the scum we have in this industry from stopping which is just fine in my book. Certainly worth checking out.

All-Paid parking definitely help keep out a lot of the riffraff, no matter where you're talking about it. I've never stopped in there but is it concrete or paved parking area for trucks? Would hate to pay $25 to park in a bombed out dirt lot with 50 deep mud holes to navigate.
alds Thanks this. -

It’s paved, with no pot holes, and there is a sheetz now open across the street with cheap (for PA tax wise) fuel.
im there pretty much every week, they know my truck so if I show up and take a nap without the permit in the window I don’t even get bothered since they know I will be in, I think $15 will get you 12 hours of parking, so go buy a water and a shower and you are atleast good for your 10, $25 will get you 24hr, they just remodeled the diner too during the covid shut down
if you need ~24 hours of parking the holiday inn express down on rt 30 by Walmart has a parking lot big enough for trucks and they have an indoor pool with a bar and clean rooms
Edit: actually the photo of my truck in my avatar was taken in that lotDale thompson, bzinger and 650cat425 Thank this.
