You should get a longer slider installed rather than have it moved. If you want to run over-length loads, you'll need all that extra space between trailer and sleeper for overhang.
I run my fifth wheel about 5 teeth from the front with a C-13 and step tanks in a 379 short hood, 244" wheelbase. Front of a standard deck sits near the front of the front drive tires. Fully loaded (45,000 US, 62,000 CAN) and distributed properly (1-2 feet back from centre on 48'), full tanks and 8 chains/binders on the rack, steers come in at 11,400 and never more. It's great.
