Here is a interesting tidbit of information. I just took Prime's Ace 2 class. Anyone at Prime knows how hard they push fuel mileage as the key to success and controlling your expenses.

Out of my class I wasn't the lowest but one of the lower adverage mpg.. Meanwhile I had the highest gross income per mile and net adverage was also one of the best, but I of course couldn't beat guys that had paid of trucks on net profit.

This is one of my petpeevs, I tend to run hard to get to my 90 and set myself up so by the time I'm unloaded I have a reset clock. This means Im ready to take my next load after Im unloaded instead of having to sit around another 8 to 10hrs.

Running like that is why I'm making the money Im making as a new guy.

So have you ever ran a lease?

    Crocky,

Are the lease at Prime really a walk away lease ?
Meaning, if you turn in the truck before term is up, will they charge back the lease to you and send charges to collection ? From the wording on their advertisement, you need to finish the term.

In a truely walk away lease, you can turn truck in at anytime, with no penalty. If Prime have a true walk away lease, then it is a decent program for guys in your unique situation of being able to stay out OTR longer.

The lease is a walk away, but I'm not sure how they deal with situations where you owe them money.

Like say you leave as a flatbed guy with out paying off all your chains and tarps. I'm not sure how something like that works.

Also if you use them to get your cdl and don't finish the year. It's possible they could come after you for the school costs.
