It used to be that you had to live over 100 miles from the yard to take your truck home; that has now been increased to over 150 miles.
Salinas is dead, but still going. When my husband delivered, he had to pick up again as soon as his 10 was up (or as soon as he could make his logbook show that). -
Keep me updated and maybe I'll put in for time off in Jackson to get me there.

Those are some beautiful horses! I envy you! -
This morning for instance. My business partner called me. She looked out the window and one of the mares (an betting I know which one....SONG!!! Ya little busybody!) had opened the gate to the "playpen" where we feed the babies. In the playpen stands my stallion and all 4 babies. The babies are all sacked out and Amir is just standing there babysitting.
For those unfamiliar with horse behavior and herd dynamics, most stallions would have attacked the babies as nature dictates to them that if they were not born in his herd / territory then they are not his and he must ensure it is *his* genes that are passed on. None of these babies are his and none were born in his "territory" (pasture).
He is *SUCH* a good boy!! My business partner goes out to get him out of the playpen and he laid his ears back and tried to block her for a second (until he regained his senses and remembered his manners). So not only was he babysitting, he was ready to protect them.
I adore this stallion. Never was fond of stallions until he came along. I could have a whole farm of stallions like him! Disposition and breeding to die for (he is a 3/4 brother to the 3-time South African National Champion stallion Maistro, half brother to Thee Cyclone who played the Black in The Young Black Stallion movie).

RT, i've had quarter horses all my life, worked with TB race horses for 10yr. This is the first time i've been without a horse, sold mine this past summer. Hope i can bring my truck home, have plenty of room to park, 5ac. fenced in. Hate to have to leave my crew cab dulley in Dallas besides the fuel, don't really want it to be sittin outside all the time and don't have anybody that could take me back and forth. Guess i'll have to wait and see what happens. Glad to meet another horse person..makes me feel at home..lol

RT, you're not a trainer, are you? I'm on hold (unpaid of course) waiting on a trainer ... was told to call today, called five times and left two messages, no call back.
I ask cuz I'm in Fort Worth near TCU and need to get working!

There's something about a great horse that inspires, and yours have that "look". Great horses, RT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope the O/O adventure works out well for you. I am still scheduled for orientation on Jan. 12th. -
