I have a 2008 peterbilt cummins isx 1 with 13 speed eaton. I am having trouble with my transmission I think. The problems is when I am empty or loaded and I step on the gas to pick up more speed on a hill or go around someone my rpms shoot up and its not in gear anymore until I let go of the gas and it catches back into gear. It only happens after I spilt into my top gears. The shifter doesn' come out when the rpms shoot up it stays in the gear a was in. Will it be my syncroniser that is giving out something inside my tranny ? Or my axles giving out ? Any input will help thanks
Need help with transmission

You'd know it if your axles went out. My guess is an issue with the synchro assembly. Might not be engaging correctly in high range, causing it to get thrown out of engagement when you step on the go pedal.

Clutch slipping? Free play?
Goodysnap, Diesel Dave and AModelCat Thank this. -
That makes sense so maybe 1,500 to get that back part of transmission fixed ?
-
That what it feels like if the clutch was slipping but only on high gears when I push the throttle a bit to hard . I did get it the cluthc adjusted but didn' do anything to fix it
-
I forgot to say the day before yesterday I did bring the selector when I was going 20mph on accident and heard of grinding till I slowed down even more it stopped

If you adjusted the clutch already and it is still slipping, your clutch is worn out. If so, have them replace the rear main seal regardless if it isn’t leaking when they replace the clutch. Also have them check the motor mounts since everything is out of the way. Btw, I had my transmission cooler lines replace when they did my clutch and transmission. Those cooler line get brittle in time and collapse internally.

Not sure what you're saying. Can you restate it?

I hate to mess with a seal that is not leaking. However if you are going to do that look at the engine to flywheel housing area for leakage. If your going in get it all.
Old transmission lines which have been disturbed have cost many a transmission.
Sounds like you are back to what Amodel said.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Low air pressure can cause slow shifting and missed engagements. Also the splitter cylinder can fill with oil causing slow shifting. It sounds like the splitter is not going into gear?? Or is it the range? Front lever or the lever on the side of the stick?
BoxCarKidd and spsauerland Thank this.
