I drove over there too. They aren't paying what they were when we were over there. Not even close.

Yes...we were there at the right time..but for a single man...might still be worth it..food,housing ,laundry all provided ..and the first $85,000..is still tax free..jave a friend in Iraq now...he is making $100,000 per yr...working at the burn pit for Fluor...Fluor pays way more..than KBR ever did

That's not the same. I could have been a real live merc. Doing it for money negates all that I believe in.

Oh I get it, but it's like a run to Canada or Alaska now. You make the same or more without all the trouble.

So because you were immature at 18 must mean everyone was, even those of us that were doing this at 18.

Seems you are fine with 18 year olds being trained and entering combat yet think that same 18 year old can't responsibly drive a truck?

Food for thought. The guys that fought in ww2 are consistently refer to as "the finest generation". I've read the average age of the soldiers involved in the Normandy invasion was 19. The best group of men in the history of mankind were 19, and aren't considered good enough to drive a truck across state lines. Freaking ridiculous.

    Think about this.....

Our soldiers cannot have loaded weapons in their barracks.

Plus at age 25 those soldiers get lower auto insurance.

Still waiting for you to explain your logic about how it becomes exponentially more dangerous to allow a driver to cross a state line.

Also, auto insurance has absolutely nothing to do with trucking. That's all about how easy it is to get a car license. Heck i got a discount cause my kid was on the honor roll. That's just as illogical. Being good at math and having good grammar doesn'tautomatically make a person a safer driver.
