I can't eat pork unless it's ground and then I have to be careful. I cook alot of ribs.... To feed to friends.whoopNride, Shock Therapy, wore out and 8 others Thank this.

Well, you answered your own question about which is the prudent choice, but..... I am not the best to respond in that I haven't been over the road since 1994. I do firmly believe though that life is way too short to spend it doing something you don't want to do, money be ######. Also, as you have read the writings of the folks on this thread, I think that you will agree that most have done comfortably well, but more importantly are quite happy.
Having said that, the industry is changing quickly, and I can't begin to predict what it will be like in another 20 years.
Good luck to you whichever way you go!sawmill, 7-UP, whoopNride and 11 others Thank this. -
Don't ever do that again! Made my heart skip a beat.....I thought that was your rig for a minute, you should give us a warning first, lol.

Thanks for responding to that fella...that was alittle to much reading for tonight
That was probably the most well written questions from a young person I've seen on this forum.
I think @Oxbow gave a dang good response. As a parent of kids older than you I would encourage you to finish your degree. It's always good to have something to fall back on. You get a few curtain crawlers of your own priorities change. That aside following your dreams...it's hard to be a good parent if your miserable what you are doing. There's alot of money to be made in a truck....and that can all change in a heartbeat. Right now I'm trying to figure out whether to sell out and retire or change directions.... Follow your heart and find someone make sure your partner understands your dreams and aspirations.sawmill, Shock Therapy, BoostedTeg and 9 others Thank this. -
My .02 worth is since your already in the middle of it and your good at it, finish your degree, go truckin if you still have the hankerin, give it a little bit to see if it's what you really want, if not you still have your degree to fall back on.
Over the years one of the things I've heard and learned is that people say if you are already in school then stay and finish because it's really hard to quit and try to go back and get in the groove again.
Good luck, whatever you decide.Shock Therapy, Oxbow, johndeere4020 and 7 others Thank this. -
