I’m almost to that point. I’m down to Boise, Indiana, and also got an offer to haul chemicals up in Portland, Oregon.

Pretty soon Boise and Portland are going to be just like the place you are moving from, a lot of them are Cali transplants too.

@Rugerfan , if one of the things you are looking for is a quieter, slower life, look at a night time map of the U.S. and pick out where the least amount of lights are and go from there.

True. The problem so far with Indiana is that no one seems to pay decent.

That'll put you in the Frank Church River of No Return (Salmon River) Wilderness Area. Hauling freight might be a bit difficult though unless you're good with pack horses!

If I had to move it would be...

Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina tristate area. Knoxville and Asheville are some of my favorite cities in the east. Fell in love with Anderson, South Carolina when I met my girlfriends parents... beautiful country out there. Reminds me of the northeast in the summer time.

Or, out in @ShooterK2 and @Bear135 country along the 35 and 40 corridors in Texas and Oklahoma. Beautiful country.

Both areas should have plentiful local and regional opportunities. Whether or not they pay is the remaining issue.

I had a 73 3/4 ton that the former owner had put headers on. Bad mistake for use on the ranch as I never could keep the bolts tight, and keep them from cracking. Traded it in on a 78 GMC 3/4 ton. It was a great pickup, but I ran it through the ash from Mt. St. Helen's and it never ran quite the same after that.
