So TRUE! I run ATL every day these people are looking for an accident, will 'cause one if necessary! It's "911HURT" whoever (see billboards everywhere) "OneCallThatsAll" first?

DashCam is essential otherwise YOUR AT FAULT!

Not just dashcams but sidecams on each side.

I had basically the same thing happen to me but in Memphis, tn. Guy merged right into my trailer tires, lied, cop gave me the ticket. I had to route myself to Memphis months later, bobtail park near downtown, and walk to the courthouse. Went to the courtroom, waited in line and the judge said "how do you plead?" "Not guilty" "ok your trial is in 2 months"

I had to repeat the process of returning to Memphis, bobtail parking downtown, and went to the courtroom. When I got there the guy that hit me didn't show but the cop did. The cop said he "wasn't there and couldn't testify to the facts of the case" so the prosecutor dropped the charges. Needless to say I hate Memphis now.

Basically if it goes to trial most likely the other person won't show. Take a day off work for no reason? If they are after money they go through civil court. The officer didn't witness the crash, only the aftermath. If your husband wants to save himself alot of confusion though just get a lawyer. I wish I could have afforded one.

    Indeed.

If I had one of those in the bad old days of I-495's in the esses (NE Side near Nat'l Cathedral) where Ive taken a few cars out with essentially no damage other than eaten tires and a few tickets easily paid.

The real battles were in the deposition room prior to going to trial when you are sued. Ive formally been sued twice, one was found to have been where the security told him not to and discredited further when he was found to have dr shopped for many pain meds, the other was a insurance settlement in the end because I was off the road a few years running a dump by then as a result of that one. That company hung on for another oh.. 20 years until they finally were buried as fuel doubled from 2.00 a gallon.

Police are not Judges. They cannot and will not be the court. They will arrest, write tickets or whatever deemed necessary right then and there and hand over everything and everyone to the courts to sort.

A three way camera system for a little bit of money that captures the accident as it happens these days saves so much he said she said etc. A few moments of saved real time video of the wreck in question will settle the situation in a few minutes in front of a judge any time. Or even in front of the police.

It's a shame that we have had to come to this, but cameras over and over for purposes of capturing 4 wheelers gone wild or 18 wheelers going astray has been very, very invaluable to those who are innocent and a bit of medicine of pain for the one who did wrong and caused the accident.

A 150,000 dollar tractor, Im pretty sure you can spend a thousand for a world class recording system in HD or 4K video. So that when days like this happen let's see what exactly all happened in the first place.

Does any one recommend a really good video camera that can last a long time?

This is why I have a dashcam. Even though dash cam is aimed at front, it will show, in this case , that I was in my lane and not making a lane change at time of accident. Tell your hubby to invest in one

But what if are making a legitimate change and someone claims you hit them? With no side camera you have no proof.

I had the same sort of thing happen, except the guy didn’t lie and a witness stopped and confirmed what happened. He said he just looked at my tandems and sort of felt “sucked in”.
