Lawsuit for detention ??

There are plenty of jobs out there. Remind your boss of this when you tell him that he's going to pay you an hourly rate while you wait to get loaded.

 

If you are "on duty" you should be compensated for every minute of detention. I have been for years. If you are not being compensated you are part of the problem with the industry. You can bet the forklift driver hiding behind the lumber pile tweeting and toking is getting paid for every minute of his day.

 

I don't think you can sue the customer for the waiting time but maybe this falls into a workers compensation case because you are working for your company and not getting compensated for your full time there maybe
I think it depends on your company as well I spoken to some drivers and they get waiting time after 1hour
I get waiting time after 2 hours
And some after 3hours
It might depend
