Well Fl was taken away.
Doc said I need to get my life under control. Avoid sodium. And lose weight.
I was a fat kid in school. So going into trucking made it a quick way to gain easily.
I try to watch what I take in, and attempt to be somewhat active, but I have to make an effort to actually exercise now.
Being that I’m already a fat guy, exercising has its limits.
I’m told that walking is an activity unless you walk a full 30 minutes, then it counts.
So, looks like this is the year I have to make a change for the better.
I’m not joining a vegan cult, but I will be actively watching how much of what I eat.

I will tell you stay off fast food specially hot dogs and no soda of any type for a week. You should drop a few pounds that way. Juice , coffee and some teas are fine. But to really make good progress you need certain herbs, minerals and probiotic. This combo can't be beat for those of us past 35.
Exercise is the main problem with trucking. Weight gain is such a issue. Some of us just need help when we get to a stage. Did doc suggest anything at all?Last edited by a moderator: Apr 10, 2018

Yeah. Exercise, don’t eat as much and avoid processed sugars and salt. Also avoid artificial sweeteners.

And nothing personal, but I don’t do MLM products. I’ll have to do this the old fashioned way

So the basic be and no real help. What we do is also park at back of lot so we have a walk to the truckstops building. In some places that is a walk. LOL. If you do the energy drinks like Monster they have a no sugar zero Cal version. It will be time to start making your own meals on the road since there not many good restaurants anymore just a bunch of fast food. Read packages on snacks those that say low fat will be high sodium but usually the regular will be less sodium. It's a bad con for sure.
OH as you cut sodium you will notice that your taste for it gets sensitive. What you use to like will taste really salty and unappealing. Salt builds in system to where you need more to taste it at some point but you cut it then it's over powering.
Lots of good healthy and safe snacks available you just got to read and think it out. -
Wickedfire you could start a whole thread tracking your journey. You would get plenty of support and encouragement and we could benefit in return. I for one also need to develop better habits and lose a few without a bunch of drama. I am not inspired by those magnificent specimens telling me how to do headstand pushups and three toed cartwheels cuz it ain't never gonna happen for me.
You go, big guy. We will cheer you on.Wickedfire77 Thanks this. -
There is a whole Health section here on TR too. Lots of good suggestions there.

I notice all the ads for exercise equipment or diet supplements feature people who are already in shape.

I’m getting annoyed by the amount of trucking companies doing robo calls to recruit me. I inquired 4 years ago and have since opted out 3.5 years ago. Suddenly I start getting them from JB Hunt and Dart regularly and a couple others every so often.

OH haven't you heard there a major driver shortage. So now it try to steal drivers from other companies, since we can't hold ours as we pay crap.
