I wish my tanks were farther back, would give me a little more flexibility. I'd be able to close the gap between the truck and trailer.

I got the exact same settup and I'm 11,270 on the steers bobtail, 475 Acert. fuel level doesn't really affect the steers but kills me on the drives if Im close to begin with.
5EE, I just had a new thought (probably not a good 1) if you are 12,000 + ALL the time maybe your bottoming out, I don't remember if you've said how old the springs are up front, or if you have 14,000lb springs they are gonna ride rough no matter what you do. If it comes to replacing your springs use 12,000 springs and make sure they are "TAPERED" springs they will soften the ride a bunch.

that's the difference. the position of the tanks. mine are farther back. under the left door is 4 batteries and under the right door is a compartment box.

Bubbanbrenda, I've had the same springs since new, almost 1,080,000 miles on them. Not sure if they are 14000lb or 12000lb. I'll have to check the spec sheet. That's a good tip to know before a whole bunch of money gets spent. Thanks.
