Yeah dispatch up here in Pennsylvania told me they would make it up to me with a long haul. I still had all the miles from California to NY for this period so it didn’t kill my check.

I like it down there. A lot of us drop our tank and bobtail out to the truck stops in Edinburg if need be. There’s also a Walmart about a mile down the service road from the yard where I bobtail and restock my groceries when I’m there. I doubt you will have to, but if you live load at citrofruit tomorrow in McAllen sometimes it’s a 5-6 hour deal. Ever since they got the terminal up and running down there most of it’s drop hook. Got some local guys that pre load tanks I think. Last time I was there I went to Tempe, AZ. The next morning when dispatch showed up to give me my load, the trailer I had parked next to all night happened to be loaded and the one I left with.

We definitely have a lot of tanks here. Thanks for the heads of on Walmart. Heading that way now. I’ll be home in a couple of days, but my fridge is completely empty.

Sounds like I’m here for awhile. He said it’s a 24 to 36 hr for a long as. Have 3 ahead of me in line. As long as I’m in Winter Haven by 11am Friday, I’m good. Have an appointment.

McAllen is 50/50 thing. Sometimes it’s a 10 hour break, drop and hook in and out. Sometimes it’s a 34 hour reset down there. The upside is wherever you go from there usually has some long legs on it. Sometimes California sometimes Florida. It’s not uncommon to go to Tempe, AZ then dead head 1200 miles right back to McAllen. Sometimes 2-3 of those back to back. I’ve also went to Florida and dead headed right back.

At least there is plenty to do around here. Ran did end to Best Buy and got a new TV for the truck. I came back and there are a lot more bobtails here. Very popular place. I turned in 3,558 miles last week. Like you said, even with the occasional sitting, still get plenty of miles.

I hope you all don’t mind, I’d like to jump in on this thread. I just started at IRT a couple of weeks ago and I’ve gotten a lot of info from this thread. So far I’m loving life here! IRT is different from other companies that I’ve worked for and I have to say it suits me perfectly! I’ve got a question Bigcat, what tv did you pickup from Best Buy? I’ve been trying to figure out what would fit in this truck and I’m thinking a 24”, just curious what size you went with and how it fits?

I picked up a 1080p Vizio. 24in. It fits perfectly in the sleeper. I have it mounted on the tv mount that came with the truck.Tanker_82 Thanks this.

It’s got a great picture on it. I’ll probably pick up a wireless soundbar when I’m home. PS4 looks great on it as well.Tanker_82 and motocross25 Thank this.
