I've had a 29 peaked and tuned with an echo board added. I also had a general lee peaked and tuned but it got stolen out of the truck. Never had a problem with the radios but they ate up some Mics. General lee went through the stock connex mic and a rk56 in about 1 1/2 years. 29 blew the stock mic at about 8 months. I always check my mic's now because I though it was the radio before. Lesson is: check the mic out.

I wouldn't call that a fair comparison. Some dealer wrenches aren't any better than just a parts changer. Some independent shops are FAR better.

its good enough to make my point . but you are correct , its not an absolute law . i think it was a good enough anology though . as i said . my shadetree bro-in-law has saved my bacon at inspection time more than once .
