Just talked to the shop, they are about to pull your new truck in and DOT it. Shouldn’t be long.
7-UP, Gearjammin' Penguin, 1951 ford and 10 others Thank this. -
I worked so hard today I had to stop early. The delivery was so far away I couldn’t make it today. 158 miles all in.
But I did have to tarp the load. -
In Brantford for the night. I'm running short on hours and was up at 2:30am local time this morning because my body decided it only needed 4 hours of sleep for today's work.
Oh well, I'm all loaded up and ready for the return trip.
Unfortunately it looks like rain and white stuff for the whole trip home, but at least it's 16°C right now and sunny. -
@Zeviander,
I like how you are running it suicide and using the Lincoln for a bulkhead
peterbilt_2005, 7-UP, cke and 9 others Thank this. -
I guess that’s the reason for the 8 chains?

Every time I see my 12 yr old son I swear he's growing an inch everyday. Been working 12 hr shifts 7 days a week for a couple of months now, 1900-0700, so other than our mini vacation a couple of weeks ago I haven't seen much of him. We decided to check his growth marks and he's grown 2" in 2 months, 5' 5" in a 10 1/2 shoe, the Doc says according to his growth chart he'll be around 6'3"-6'5", it's fun watching him grow up.
Got 3 huge fires down here in the western part of the state @1951 ford. Wind is blowing 30-40 north, temps in western Ok are in the 100's and it's drier than a popcorn fart. The Red Cedars are just exploding when they catch on fire they can't keep up with em right now with the wind. Going to be in the 30's and 40's for highs Saturday, crazy weather! -
If the coil breaks loose, you can take the flattened SUV by a scrap yard and no one is the wiser, LOL.
-
Lol, I wish I could have picked the coil up first, but the MKX had to be driven on. And it's a sale being moved, so it needs to avoid any road debris.
Funny thing was, ppw said load shotgun, and keep dry. Coil was in the mud, outside, and loaded with a Taylor with the spike. Not sure what I'm keeping dry here.
56,000 lbs scares the hell out of me. And of course I only left the yard with a single 3/8" chain this week.
I'm sitting at 67% aggregate working load limit and driving it like she's a smooth bore tanker full of milk. I even had to use straps for the car (which I dislike) because we only run 8 chains and binders in US/ON.
And I'm getting really fed up with these bear traps. I'm either going to blow my shoulder or lose my teeth one of these days. -
@Zeviander,
I never understood those tarp policies where you set the stuff on dunnage in a field somewhere. It’s ridiculous. My dad backhauls cars and trucks sometimes, I just tell him to roll the front windows down. One chain across the hood, one thru the windows across the doors, one across the trunk and haul ###, haha.peterbilt_2005, cke, 1951 ford and 6 others Thank this.
