These new guys can’t even park, much less drive. And they don’t care. They have no pride.

I almost T-boned one of those guys DURING my training. Guy blew right through a stop sign and did a left turn in front of me. Gave me that cheesy "hey bro thanks for not hitting me" wave as he drove past. Idiot.

I'm not sure it's they don't care, it's they don't think of it. Before I parked somewhere, I looked around, made sure I wasn't in someone's way, but with the individualism there is today, I don't think it even occurs to these yahoos. That's why I say it's only going to get worse.
And since I'm babbling, we've all made mistakes in driving a semi, Lord knows I have, ok, not to this magnitude, but some doozies I can't for the life of me figure out how I missed someone,,,but I did. It's a dangerous job with a TON of variables. With as busy as the world is today, just a matter of time before these variables cross paths.

To consider it you have to care. If you have some pride and give a crap you will consider it. imo

None are perfect, we've all made mistakes.

A stop sign with a flashing light as well as a sign warning of the upcoming stop.

There are mistakes and there is negligence. I'm not sure at what point you cross from one to the other but in this case you're at the far end of the spectrum, mistake doesn't come close to applying.

I wish the 'truck driver' and his demons a long life.

Yeah I get we’ve all made mistakes but the goal was to learn and get better. I don’t see it getting better only see it becoming normal

Passing a guy today his DSO tires came over the line so I laid on the horn to snap him back over. Very next guy was doing 50 mph in the rain, no lights, eyes in his lap as I passed. This is 6 days after one of their colleagues killed 16 people. I would think everyone would be on top of their game but nope. I am ashamed to say I drive a truck.

Globe and mail is now reporting that the driver was liscensed for about a year and finished 15 days of training 15 days prior to the accident.

Alberta company that owned truck involved in Humboldt crash suspended

Wife was making ribbons at work along with her regular job. Her employer (big honking oil company) is raising pile of cash for the gofundme. The remaining survivors got to be in tough shape being in hospital this many days.

Spent most of my working life hauling lumber and heavy equipment on the roads of northern Ontario. Every winter it's the same old gang in the ditch. They lack the skills and common sense to tackle the roads up here. Constant wrecks constant fatalities. The Humboldt crash

Hope the Humbold tragedy will force the politicians to bring in better training standards across the country.
