Don't you hate it when they do that ? I see that in other forums too . People will ask for help then fail to acknowledge responses when members try to help them or they act like you're invading their privacy when you ask for information necessary to give an appropriate answer .

Mike did the company ever "write you up? or shut you down for the violation?" If not you may have a case against them. Not a go to court case but you can make a rebuttal on your DAC and then DAC will look into it. I wish you luck and like some of the others said look towards the smaller companies. You'll be treated like a person not a number.

1st off its not a DAC recorable offence! So with that I wouldnt tell prospective employers. And here is why I say this. I had a zillion letters from smith in two years about log violations and the next one was always going to be my last warning! Most trucking companies DO NOT call your previouse companies! they fax a letter asking if you had accidents or drug and alcohol violations and your dates of employement!! thats it! read the release when they send one to you or ask you to sign it! Ask nothing of "company policy violations"!!! I have applied and been excepted at a few companies now and not one company has asked me to explaine my zillion log violations!!! I have a copy of my DAC and NOTTA! in fact if you read DAC guidlines, company policies cannot be reported unless its drug and alcohol!! Just say you left.

Thanks for the information. The log violations were company policy only. It was my fault I got canned because I did get a warning. I've always had a problem with writing things down. Most of the violations were for being late turning them in.
The stress of working for a crap company didn't help. (C.R. England). I was constantly given loads that could not be completed legally. I was getting 3-4k miles a week. When I first went solo. Kind of stupid driving illegal considering I was a novice.
When I stopped driving blatantly illegal I was passed off to a newly hired DM. Then all I got was crap. ie. a load to Geneva Ill. from Burns Harbor In.
73 pd miles. No labor rate, squat. Delivered 4 am. then sat in a truck stop for a full day. Total pay $19.71
So with a bit of a problem writing things down to begin with, then being depressed 3/4 of the time with the crap loads and crap pay, I neglected to hand the logs in on time.
I definately appreciate the advice of those that offered it. As to the few whiners complaining that I never responded back, so sorry I didn't meet your deadline for responding.

WRONG, your ENTIRE employment history (in trucking) as well as tickets and even CREDIT SCORE is DAC Reportable.

Dude they all suck anymore trust me! Ive been in trucking 22years now driving just shy of 16 of them. The industry is poluted with fresh new drivers comming from schools every day, thats why the pay is so crappy anymore, guys new believe they must get more exp to make the higher mlg pay, its a farce! Once you get exp they hose you on miles and other pay, trust me the industry is bad, these companies have scams going for tax credits, as well stealing you blind eery trip, the whole industry of sleeper trucks is a crooked scam! Take my advice go find an hourly job or go to school for a new trade this industry is going to take you nowhere fast, dont waiste your life at it! Im serious Im 40 I started college last year, Im on the Deans list straight A's, I saw te industry go to hell over the years and Im in the process of doing exactly what I toldyouto do.

If a company "steals you blind", if you get "hosed on miles and other pay", it is YOUR fault for allowing it to happen. Every time I got "hosed", I STOOD UP for myself and took action. During the past 5 years, I have SUED 3 former employers. I won twice and the third is going to trial this June because the employer still thinks he can win (even though the law is on MY SIDE).
I now work for a GOOD company that values my experience and work ethic and PAYS WELL for it. I get PAID for "layover"; other than the sometimes necessary 34hr reset. When I have a layover, the company pays for a MOTEL, plus pays me as if I drove 500 miles that day. I bring home (after taxes) between $650 and $1000 every (full) week.
