I, for one, in no way miss the 10-codes. Like memorizing the Elements Chart. OTOH, some danged funny arguments about proper use thereof have gone missing. More fun than on-air arguments about HOS rules.

 

Lol..I still hear the off 10 code being used....
I always back out "wtf is a 10??" Just say whats goin on fer cryin out loud..

Yeap..For me there is not alot of char good or bad till im outta canada and down twards the bottom end of ct...
When back in ontario canada area there is some #### chat now and then near toronto but more of it is rag head this or that dissing or someone calling another an butt hole ectect..More dissing that anything..

Times and technological devices, books on tape, and a general disrespect for mankind by our new breed drivers have added to the diminishing C.B radio chatter, other than being so scared they hide in their bunks and talk big on the radio. The new gen drivers only use that little device when they want info, other than that they either turn it off, or do not have a radio period they feel with all the technology ithey posses, the radio is old school, and unnecessary

 

I’ve been hearing the same #####ing and morning about truck drivers since I started 21-Years ago. “The new breed”. Ya da, Ya da, Ya da.

CB is better in rural areas. No surprise. And the major E-W Interstates as well as some cities pretty bad.

But always? It ain’t black & white.

 

Companies used to have a policy where the driver would get fired if he was caught without a radio being turned on.
Or fired for passing a truck stranded on the side of the road without checking to make sure the driver was okay.
