Are you saying the issue is your steer axle may be over 12000 pounds?

Yes, I am pretty close to 12k in front axle every time I fuel full tanks. Have to position the 5th wheel, right between the drives axles to don't get overweight in front. The D13 engine was lighter, my current N14 is much heavier. Will be getting today def tank, dpf filter and catalisator out of the truck, will help a little bit the weight in front.

Wait, you have a Volvo, you should check the actual axle weight, I know most of the ones I saw were 13,400 rated.

It doesn't matter how much weight you axle can handle, if you go on the scale with more than 12k in front, your done.

I have been considering to replace my current two 100 gallons tanks with two150 gallons, but the weight of those extra Gallons will make me go overweight in front most of the time.

Ok, how much weight can you have in front axle then? Last time i checked it was 12 k in front, 34k on drives and 34k on trailer, am I mistaken? The only exception i know will be the 400 pounds to have if you carry a Apu.

You sir are very miss lead. 12k is just most standard weight. You can have upwards of 20,000 pounds on a steer axle depending on axle/tires and permits.

Whatever your steer axle and steer tires are rated for. Axle weight rating is in the door jamb and tire weight rating is on the tires. It varies by truck manufacturer and company that ordered the truck new. Mine is 14,600 which is standard on a carhauler however many OTR tractors are 13,000 or so nowadays.
