    Just a bit of advice...

I went with a 7" tablet and downloaded the Smart truck route 2 app and works great.

This was in response to RM discontinuing updating my 720.

    Smart truck updates continuously.

    >> the only issue issue i had with the Smart Truck App is that it does not have the map off line (unless they changed something) so if you lose signal, you lose the map. I used to use CoPilot, which i found to very good and it does DL the maps so like RM, you always have the maps, even offline. I just found some of the routing to be odd. But after a year with RM, not so much more. and their maps are more up to date than RM every is (was).
If RM doesn't start to get it together i may go back to using one of the 2 of them. I need current mapping, better routes, and ACCURATE routes

I have copilot. I just prefer it over RM and Garmin. I just downloaded the 15 day free trial of Sygic Truck. So far I like it. It uses here truck maps same as Garmin.

What I like you can report errors but until here fixes them you can click avoid road permanently. Then it will never route you on that route. It just don’t have all the truck stops by chain like Rand does. It has them just littler harder to find. Not a deal breaker for me. But it does show speed limits and weigh stations curves etc.

    139 lifetime
    9.99 a month.

    Traffic is 14.99 year

I was gonna need a gps i almost bought the tomtom but between copilot and this Sygic I am gonna pass on a dedicated unit since I have an iPad with data

Ok that's what i figured. When I booted up the GPS it said maps are over 1 year old and I should check on updates so I thought I would see If I could do it manually. Thanks

I have Co Pilot as a backup but I tell you Iove their traffic bar. It is spot on everytime and so convienent to see the colors in a "bar" form for my route. Honest I don't use RM's traffic. I have CoPilot on my phone and have both devices on at same time. RM for route and CP for traffic.

    jtaran06 Thanks this.

I have the 740 and let me tell you the Traffic - SUCKS! and there is no rerouting or at least auto or even an option based on traffic.
CoPilot I liked, but i did have a few to many "weird" routes from it. taking me down roads that i should not have been om. Legal, i think, but sure as hell not designed for a truck, and by time i realized no option to get out, especially in PA.
I love using Waze, but not truck based.
Between Smart truck, CoPliot and Rm (which i already know) which do you think has the better traffic, mapping (google like) and rerouting options based on traffic conditions.
Then the next question is maps, i know Copliot DL all its maps, how well does Smart Truck stay up to date if you lose signal?
finally - which is better for adding your own POIs and stops?

Adding your own poi on smart truck is easy.

It does not update offline. I tether to my verizon phone and rarely lose signal.

Have never had a routing issue.
