It's not a state exemption. Intrastate trucking simply isn't subject to federal HOS, and some states have more permissive HOS.

Maybe I did not make my point clear enough. I do know the majority of the states have simply said the federal HOS rules apply. Not all of course. However I was talking about the states even the ones that do go by the federal rules for intrastate do allow farm vehicles to do this. In some states their whole allowing intrastate like this is for farm vehicles. This is an area where I admit I am ignorant. I just was under the impression in most places you had the federal rules even in intrastate unless it was a farm vehicle. I might ask around with some friends of mine on facebook about this tonight and tomorrow. It is an interesting topic.

I certainly don't know all state rules. I know California, where I live, allows more hours than federal laws do.

You posted to a public forum. One I am also a member of. It is my business...TripleSix Thanks this.

Crossing into Delaware or Virginia doesn’t make us go into a logbook, just the air mile radius or 12 hours.

it has to do with where the loads orginate, & deliver, also where you start travel to and deliver. There not registered as such with which rules to follow, kind of a company decision.

First of all, I advise you to lose the attitude before you find yourself out of here on your butt.
Second, @TripleSix is right. Just keep yourself within the bounds of regulations, and let others do as they may. You won’t sink because of them as long as your activities are above board. It wouldn’t hurt to think about looking for greener pastures either.VTech, spyder7723 and TripleSix Thank this. -
It was Shakespeare that first spoke of the green eyed monster. Tragic...
