Returning to an old job, I just requested an automatic and drive cam.

Nope, you're right. We are ultimately responsible for ALL THE WORLDS WOES.

Having a cam in your face isn't going to help you. ONLY the company.
That way when you have a hard brake or hit a deer, they can say that well you were drinking from your mega gulp of coffee or eating that sandwich so its your fault.

^I am saying as a driver you are accountable for your actions that a cam will document. Why are you so afraid, looking to run and hide, see if you can find a way lie your way out of what you where actually doing?

Don't want to go to jail because the cam recorded you as you ran over a kid while playing on your phone. Put down your phone or take up a desk job.

I want a cam in my truck as I it will protect me from the bone head moves I see dimwits pulling all over the road. Seems like many here are worried as they are the bone heads pulling the moves. Mandate cams in all trucks and clean up the industry. You can flip burgers, I'll make better buck as a driver with the lower supply of poor, unaccountable drivers making the roadways unsafe.

NO, driver facing cam is going to protect the driver. Only the outward facing cams even remotely help with that.
It has noting to do with what I want to hide.

Why doesn’t the driver facing camera and microphone shut off when the brakes are set?
Why is the inward camera on 24 hours a day while the driver is on hometime or a reset?

    Dumdriver Thanks this.

Been at this for 16 years now. Not going anywhere.
So you do you, and the rest of us won't worry about it can live without a cam in our face. Not everyone is a hand wringing worry wart.

    Dumdriver Thanks this.

Just let this kid rant himself out. It’s all good. He’s the only professional driver here because he loves drive cam. The rest of us? We’ll be flipping burgers soon (even though I promise my record would compare VERY favorably to his, even after decades of driving in philly and NYC).

Forget about the thousands of drivers that have been put on last chance write up and/or lost their jobs because they hit a bump and drive cam went off while they changing the radio station- I mean he found one case were a ticket got thrown out because of drive cam. Even though that ticket was probably getting thrown out anyway for going to court, we’ll give you that one. One case, sort of.

Thought you wanted to drop this? Lol. Honestly, you like them, good for you. That’s your choice. Stop insulting and insinuating people that don’t like them are bad drivers. That’s not the case- and many of us have the miles to prove it. So how about it? Truce? I’m not changing your mind and you’re not changing mine.

Agree to disagree and move on?

misterG and MACK E-6 Thank this.

^ Yeah, I did drop it, then you wrote your "bird" post right? or you forgot that part. You ask for ONE example, I gave you several, referenced another forum member who gave a real life example. Yet, you continue on.

It is an individuals like you the make drive cams a good idea. Someone who can not be accountable for their actions, will just try to wiggle their way out of what they got themselves into regardless.

The bird post was a joke. So lighten up Francis. You’re way too emotional.

You wanna put records up against each other? I PROMISE mine puts yours to shame. That’s a guarantee!!!

Next time you feel like taking a shot at me, you take it to PM because I have too much respect for the forum to light you up on it. Otherwise, drop it
