class action against intertate?

I read awhile back that a class action suit had been filed against Interstate out of washington by former and current drivers reguarding some law over overtime pay. The state law i guess says that even truckers are to be paid overtime even if on a per mile pay rate for hrs over forty. Does anyone know what the outcome is if any has come yet? haven't seen anything else on this matter since then. thanks

 

yep, was aware of that law,but there was just a few months ago, a write up in one of the trucker mags or newspapers about a law that is writen in the state of washington, that stated cmv drivers were intitled to overtime pay. the class action suit was filed and was waiting to hear the out come of it. the govt can write a law, but if a state law goes above or beyond, it overides federal. therefor, in the case with washington, theres went beyond, so it would be inforceable. I was just wondering if anyone knew or heard what the out come was yet. I know my company is out of washington and for the new yr, all of a sudden re plated all trucks out of oregon via the trerminal in oregon, so I was thinking that the verdict was going to go in favor of the drivers and to avoid future overtime payments, re due the buisness and registrations and paperwork via oregon. but thanks for your post
