I posted this on another board but its important so bare with me if you have read it.
There are a lot of scamsters out there right now pretending to be "independent recruiters" These people are are telling prospective and experienced drivers to fill out an application with them and they will match you with hundreds of trucking companies that will hire you based on your experience and background! What they do is run adds on places like craigslist and in your local newspaper. They also float and roam in the truck stops. What these people do is get you to fill out an "application" with them via web sites, phone or mail and fax. With just ONE application they have all your information!!! WHAM BAM next thing you know you have ten credit cards, 5 apartments, six auto loans and god only knows what else all in your name!!! Seriously be careful!
If you go to a website for independent recruiter and the home page has a bunch of companies advertising then it may be ok. I.E bubbajunk, cdljobs,[spamming job site removed] ect ect ect. Best policy is to contact potential trucking companies yourself! If you do get the idea to call a company and apply based on the info you recieved from one of these Legit websites, make sure you let the recruiter know where you got the info. My best advise to you is this! Call the trucking companies you wanna work for directly! it may take you a few more phone calls to get a job but given todays world of crooks and scamsters a little more time a security on your end will save you thousands of dollars and hours in the end if one of these people get your information.

great advice and heads up gator06.It's always better to be cautious in these days of time. I to think it's better to call the company that you're interested in directly it's always worked for me
luvtheroad Thanks this. -
Good point, I thought of that too. I would never fill out an app. on a web site like that.
Good post! -
I saw an ad on craigslst that said that they could pretty much get you a driver job any where even if you had to get the CDL first. They would help you get that too...

So I clicked on it and they show a pic of a bunch of people wearing suits and below that there was a link that said; apply now...
Who are they trying to fool here??? At least put a picture of a truck or something...Not college yuppies wearing suits....
I flagged it for removal cause I saw right through it.
You would almost have to be a complete idiot to apply for a trucking job on that site.....

Great post, but maybe they could help me restore my credit. LOL!!! It is getting bad out there when it comes to identity theft. Definately something to watch out for.
