I've had a lot of morons I Call them Flash their high beams after dark... That is ignorant beyond a shadow of a doubt Flashing high beams after dark
-
Flashing should only involve college girls! Preferably in wet tee shirts!
91B20H8, TennMan, driverdriver and 2 others Thank this. -
I flash my high beams once to catch the driver's attention if there is a big enough gap and other drivers behind him.
I don't continually flash them. Just once should catch their attention.
Turning off your lights is where I like to draw the line. I hate when drivers so that. Especially when I'm already in the lane maneuver (I do it slowly and respectfully). It takes me out of where the truck is. It's already hard enough sometimes to see if I'm good enough to pass... No need to make it harder. -
If the lights go off for a sec, that is the other driver telling you from his vantage point that you are good to come back over. Has been done that way as long as I remember, so since the early 70's.
mickimause, Home_on_wheels, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
high beams, low beams, on / off, marker lights, wild and loud sirens......whatever. Somebody just trying to help. Personally, I do none of the above because it's against policy and I figure if you don't know when to merge, you shouldn't be driving.
mickimause Thanks this. -
Eh. I appreciate the intent, but if you blind me, I'm going to shake my head for a second or two before I get on with my night.
Sometimes I drive tractors where cutting the headlights is impossible, due to the daytime running lights. In those cases, I will just interrupt my marker lights and hope that the person sees. It's not the end of the world if they don't see my signal. They will get back in the right hand lane at some point.Last edited: Apr 6, 2018
mickimause, 91B20H8 and gentleroger Thank this. -
even then though. you see the change in intensity. it dims the headlights which is preferable to the alternative.Home_on_wheels and drvrtech77 Thank this.

I'm in this too, I left in Sept 2017 turned the truck in and walked. All on the up and up!
I was just getting tired of constant changes/new rules, this and that, don't do this anymore, and on and on. Basically it was effecting my pocket or at least that is how I saw it. No hard feelings, Schneider has it's positives but it seems sense MR. Schneider himself passed they have lost track of what is important. "The driver"
Currently I'm thinking of returning to trucking somewhere else. Will see what happens.
