Roehl driver here got any info you need on them

Do you know if Roehl can still get a driver home every weekend. Looking at midwest regional fleet.

Have you talked to any Roehl Teams. Was wondering how many miles they avg.?

 

I think everybody is sucking right now. Flats, vans, reefers, O/Os, L/Os, and teams alike. Fingers crossed it picks up soon.

 

I start Monday the 12th of Jan. Already have the CDL A. It's good to hear about the APU's and converters. I was wondering about that. Going flatbed, what the hell. I was wondering if they were pre-wired for a CB??

 

They are pre-wired, you'll probably have to do some splicing. Good luck on getting nice truck with an APU. I'm in an old Freightliner with almost 504k on it, they don't seem to be in any hurry to get me something new. Over all it's a good company though.

 

So, Roehl drivers,... are you experiencing a lot of tractor breakdowns, or are you just saying the tractors are ragged out otherwise?

How are their trailers, are they junk too? Have to monkey around with them alot?
Haven't seen much discussion about the equipment Roehl uses.
The Internationals I have seen look decent enough from the outside.

 

The tractors run, and they are (for the most part) taken care of. Roehl was claiming to replace the fleet after 400k and four years, but with the economy in shambles they are hanging onto stuff now. I like my truck, the engine is well broke in and I get great MPGs. My only gripe is not having an APU, but I guess I was spoiled before. Getting work done can be a major PITA depending on the terminal. Some stuff takes priority over others. I wrote my truck up for three small issues, but things I couldn't fix myself, and I waited a day and a half to get them fixed.

The trailers are a mixed bag. Some of the reefers are crap and need to be retired, same with a few curtain sides. Most vans aren't too bad, but the tandems can be tough to slide on the older ones. More driver abuse by not greasing them while pulling them. Most of the flats are in decent condition though.

All in all the equipment is good and most importantly, safe. Sure I'd like a new truck with an APU, but this one runs, the wheels turn, and I make money with it... when there's freight available.
