My hubby has stayed out as little as two weeks and as long as four weeks depending on how many days he wants to be home. So far he has always 100% been home when he asked to be. Develop a good relationship with your FM. They can make you or break you when it comes to getting home.
Good luck with the new job!

Can anyone in general say about how many miles the USX solo drivers are getting per week on avegage???
-
Hope that helps.Baack and ScooterDawg Thank this. -
I am in school right now and considering USX for my starter company. All in all, how would you rate them overall? -
Wow! Thanks for the info Hometime, that counts me out. When you get down to 12 & 1300 miles per week thats almost working for free after you count taxes, food and minor road expenses. Even at 16 to 1800 per week is just a few hundred in pocket, thats very tuff to work with...

Scooter Dawg;
It's a good company to drive for I would still be there but had some stuff come up at home that kept me off the road for a little over 30 days and had to go thru re-hire, but they had a hiring freeze on for Michigan. Unless they have changed the past few months what they do is split the country in half using I-35 and your like me living east of that, so that is where you run. It would probally work out for you being your from NC. I used to pull loads there at least 2 times a week, you'll run up and down 95 a lot and get to know the north east real well. The way they have the training set up I feel is the best and the equipment is real good. The gps can screw you, I was going on 30 east to Ohio and when I got to Ft. Wayne it had me get on 930 to loop a little to hook back up to 30. It had me make a few turns and before I knew it I was in a residential neighborhood, got thru it but that is one place you dont want to be. So take a little time to do a quick route with the atlas. All companies are crap at one point or another but overall with the training, equipment and the pay for beginners I would say it's a top notch place. One thing, they have automatics and if all your shifting has been in school then if you leave usx you'll struggle with a company that has manuals.ScooterDawg Thanks this. -
The miles are slow right now. But he left out on a 1600 mile run this morning. Can't complain about that too much. If you were to talk to him he would tell you that he likes it. He would talk your head off about some of the things that have happened to him since starting there and he would complain about a thing or two. But in the end he would say....That's just trucking and I have no complaints with how they have treated me.ScooterDawg Thanks this. -
Yeah, it is interesting about USX. It seems that one week, all you find are good posts about them, and then the next week.... well, it is less than, shall we say, complimentary? USX would actually be a GREAT fit for what Linda and I want to do for the first year, and more so, if all goes well, then hey, it's all that much better, right? On one hand, they have nice trucks, pet policy, rider policy, good training, and from what I understand, a good reputation when it comes to payroll. Then comes the mileage issue..... you can make $5 / mile, but if you aren't getting any miles, it's sort of a moot point HOW MUCH you make. <sigh> Maybe I'll have a vision.... hehehehehe
Ya'll are the greatest. Thanks so Much! -
ScooterDawg, check your PM when you get time.
