You can set your SWR on your CB (YouTube how to do it on your model). You just have to make sure the antenna is routed correctly, or all you're going to get is static. The ground is the most important part. Don't want to hit a bump and then have to mess with it.

Any antenna will work. Firesticks after pretty trustworthy. Don't get anything absurdly tall. It can't go more than 20 feet past the top of your truck. Coils are good but not required unless you like talking smack and would like to always have the last word.

Trip planning is the least of your worries if you're running Regional. What I mean by that is you're going to be going to the same customers over and over and over and you will learn the routes and the time it takes to get there for each one.

I run regional and have for 8 years now. Last week I went to only one customer that I've been to before. I'm in West Memphis right now, and I haven't been here in 6 months.

I do my trip planning todat the same way I did 8 years ago. Atlas, truck stop guide, gps, then plan my hours . Trip planning is one of the most important skills a new driver needs, and being dismissive of it irks me.
