That place in Florida where we load to go to Waco, TX won’t let you in wearing shorts either. I can’t remember the name, but it’s only about 30 minutes from the WH terminal.
Anytime I go to a shipper/receiver that does everything indoors, I always ask if I can unhook and pull outside to idle while they do their thing. A lot of places don’t mind. Probably wouldn’t have worked at Visalia though. I’ve only been there twice I think. Isn’t that the one where you go past all those trailers of lemons and you get loaded while you’re on a set of scales?

Yep. That’s the place. I like that part of it. Didn’t take long at all tonload, but it took awhile to get the paperwork. I don’t have to be in Auburndale till Sunday so I stopped at the 58/395 crossroad. After sleeping all night the night before, it’s difficult to get any rest during the day and then drive all night. Glad there was alittle time on this run. Lol

I hear ya on the days and nights getting flip flopped. I did a Visalia to Bradenton, FL once (drop/hook at that one) and I think the other time it was a Canada load that I ran to Indianapolis and a passport driver repowered me.

This one is a drop in Auburndale, so I probably have a window on Sunday.

You live close enough to Auburndale to go home for a night before or after? That’s what I do if I’m close enough. Gotta get it when you have the opportunity. I got my CDL in 2008 and cut my teeth pulling food grade pneumatics. My first company didn’t have a “ride with” training program. They had a “follow him around in your own truck” training program. 10 years later I can still hear the 60+ year old, ex-military voice preaching to me “if you’re ever within 100 miles of your house and you don’t go home you’re a $$$$ fool”. Lol.

I’ll probably try and swing by once I drop. I’ll be running recap all the way across. I’m not taking hometime till June, so maybe I’ll try and get a 34 there.
The issue I had with my truck was the fuel filter was getting clogged. They said it was getting dirt in it. Was running a lot better, but now it’s starting to do the same thing again. Ugh! Lol.Crusader66, motocross25 and Tanker_82 Thank this. -
Making my way cross country. I’m in Louisiana for my 10. Should be dropping before scheduled time Sunday. Going to take a 34 at Winter Haven, so they can look at my truck. Need to get this fuel filter situation taken care of.

Dropped my tank at Minute Maid and wrote up my truck. Going to be tomorrow till they get to it, so I’m beach bound.

We left OKC Friday afternoon with her car, my pickup, and my landscape trailer loaded down with all of my equipment and tons of boxes from the house. We got to San Antonio late that night, got a motel, then yesterday morning we put everything into a mini storage. We left SA and drove her car all the way to Clovis, got my other pickup from the IRT yard, then made it back to OKC about 430am.
So I’ve turned about 1,500 miles on my home time. Lol. I’m rolling out soon and dead heading to Mission. At the end of next month we will make 1 final trip to SA and I will either rent a car or fly myself back to OKC to get my semi.Hellcat1, bigcat1124, Crusader66 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Nothing like driving a bunch of miles on your “off” time. The actual moving part is no fun. Found out today that it was going to take a few days to fix my truck, so, I have to move myself today. Into a different truck. This one is set up different. It has a upper bunk. Only 20,xxx miles on it. So, hopefully this is my truck for awhile. Picking up this evening and heading to Flemington, NJ. Yuck! Lol
