Tire tread looks feel wavy

    2000 Mack rd690s was fine about 2 months ago now the steer tire passenger side is wearing funny..outter edge is like waves middle is high inside is waves but not as bad..tire pressure is 120 same both sides..driver tire is fine..so what's the thoughts ..bearing king pin or alignment out..been on so tough roads out here lately ..quad axle dump truck ..

    Yes how you know lol are they known for this kinda problem. .I can kinda feel the pattern in a curve

    both sets of mine did the same thing until I switched to Yokohama's.......now no problem at all

    It’s called river wear typically and only seems to occur on the right shoulder. I have had it happen on a set of Michelin XZA3’s at 196k, Bridgestone 283’s at 120k both on a Volvo. Just replaced a set of 283’s this past weekend for river wear with 100k on a Freightliner, it’s common on open shoulder tires for some reason.

    Most alignment shops set the toe at zero these days, this causes tire cupping as soon as there is any play at all in kingpin bushings or tie rod ends; align the front end to a 1/16 toe in and this will stop happening.
