Does anyone actually know the hometime policy (in real life) and is the office personel easy to work with? I would like an honest opinion about this co. What is their % of O/D loads and is there alot of sit time between loads/ Do they overbook the loads as to where it is really tight to p/u and del. them on time?

Hunt is part of Crete, the flatbed division, been to the terminal in Omaha & everyone pretty friendly. the trucks run optimized idle. Hunt keeps other half busy.

I am still in school. What is "optimized idle"??

I may be going with Hunt after school graduation, but if they will not let me keep the truck idling in 100 degree weather, I may have to look at another company.

The truck is set with optimized idle.......the thermostat is set to keep truck cool or warm........by running the engine only when
required. automatically stops and restarts the engine to get to the set temperature.
Of course when in a truck in califormia, can't idle anyway at 100 degrees

Anyone have any updates on Hunt...Good or Bad? Was pullin flat for the last two years but the company closed its doors about a month ago and unemployment isn't payin the bills. Need to get back to work ASAP! Would like to stay on flatbed but at this point I'll consider just about anything. Any info on this company or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I just went through hunt transportations orientation finished thurs..12/3 and I was hesitant going there but im happy i did..Easy orientation only 3 days..they rented me a car from tulsa ok. and provide lunch then give you a voucher for valintinos buffet..really nice buffet..clean comfortable motel ect..small orientation only 4 in class 1 failed his physical the other 2 guys got 2009 internationals and i got a 2006 since i smoke..i found a major oil leak so they put me in a 2007 freightliner with an apu and has opti idle so im happy..They pay me .38 pm which is better than all other companies i looked at..they dont have ez pass but you can bypass those anyway and/or they will advance you the money to pay for them so its no big deal to me..insurance is bcbs at $80 month for single which is cheaper than my last employer by 70 bucks so im happy ill have med. insurance again..they pull 53 flats and rgns..you dont need hazmat since they dont haul hazmat..minimal canada only 13 loads went there last year..they do haul oversize at .06 cents more per mile and oversize is not mandatory..so far im happy with them but ill give it a couple months and give ya an update...pay is weekly use comdata or direct deposit..terminal in omaha nebraska and is there only terminal but utilize crete of coarse..dont really affiliate with crete hunt is a separate company with a president ect...staff is great..christian is head of safety and laid back..crete cannot fire you only hunt personell..they do have a point system which is new to me and a part of crete but it doesnt affect you at hunt unless your the type that doesnt work with them and you have a bad attitude ect...then they will fire you as i think anybody would...they run legal ect...and as far as loads go you tell the dispatcher in the area your delivering you send in your pta and that dispatcher starts looking for a load for you which i like that system..they have open windows on deliveries unless consignee wants you there at a specific time which i like..so i like them so far and as others say this is my opinion so hope it helps...if you go to hunt tell christian you saw this on here my driver code is galt..so he will know who i am...
