How long is the sleeve they put on ?
-
About a foot long, 6inches each side of the crack..

Well...... long as your satisfied with the work but my crack on my frame wasn’t as bad as yours and they added a 6 foot inner frame rail inside. Just keep an eye on it. I have the truck parked, I will take pictures tomorrow and post.
daf105paccar and jotz007 Thank this. -

As I was taking pictures, just realize the inner frame channel that sleeved it is 8 feet long. It goes beyond the motor mount and way back beyond the center hanger of the rear suspension.

When I bought this truck in 84(my second truck) I noticed small inner channel plate in the inside of the frame. Well I didn’t realize it was there cause it had a cracked already. It was sort of hidden. Anyways..... 6 months later I noticed th cracked and had realize why the plate was there. As you can see on the above pictures, I had it repaired correctly when I had it done.
To the OP...... that small piece they repaired your cracked frame, reminds me of my original one. Beware....... it’s not going to last if you haul heavy. Btw, my K100 has been parked for 11 years. I still have it. Can’t seem to part from it. But it’s all intact. -
Thanks! I am taking the truck back to the shop who did it. Try to get inner plate inserted.

Dealing with a rust issue on my W9. Wish I could have gone the sleeve route... Wound up transplanting truck onto two new entire frame rails. Wallet still hurts, BUT won't deal with this again in my lifetime!!
